Flying red cloud wild-geese are expelling
Above a cold wood in disarray;
While dark Night is here on her way,
Passing by are crows returning.
The grass withering, smoke fading –
Dew into pearls is gathering.
Lying before me: The free country 
                                              paths and roads,
And distant green hills where the 
                                     Autumn stream flows!

Fallen red leaves from maple trees

All go where the river flows free;

The ceaseless wind cold

A-blowing in circles.

The waves are rolling, rolling,

In the swaying boat the trav’ller a-sighing;

Beneath the crystal Blue the 

                                    cold Moon bright,

Startled floating gulls take flight 

                                          into the Night!

與大家分享星河兄之一首 "前無古人佳作"：

thank you Old Man for your "re-sharing"!

i did miss this particular ci: Awesome x 2!! by NM Starry River who's going, going on a trip (or cruise?), hopefully not as a 'semi-hermit', and as such --

he may eventually disappear from sight like the 'holy dragon' Wave-Chasing Guy whom, i`m sure, we all miss v much!

when u said '前無古人佳作' i was a little dubious, to b frank. but when i tried to translate it and read it really carefully several times, i tend to agree! it is quite unique, unlike any other traditional Chinese palindrome poems or ci i've translated! (and i've translated quite a few by now.)

i am honoured and fortunate enough to be able to attempt translating the above v beautiful ci x 2 by 夜月星河 ... part 2 will follow...

The ultimate scene fine:

The broken bridge some hidden snow

Pretty the picture in front of us lying.

To save our energy in touring,

In bright moonlight we go a-boating
