Morning dew-drops give birth to pearls,
one by one;
First smile comes from the early Sun.
In my friends' company, I go a-hiking.
We listen to winds the bamboos rattling,
At distant green mountains gazing.
The early birds, counting --
Hopping, flying slanting,
Around branches tweeting,
Bugs each other out-eating.
On the bridge-o'er-brook we're walking,
The flowing water's murmuring,
A cicada crying, frogs croaking.
O Hot zenith-Sun crimson!
In the woods, we admire colourful blossoms.
At the green-willow'd lily pond,
Pink lilies butterflies alight on.
The incense calls forth dragonflies
(with tails long).
When grey Dusk slowly does fall
Gone are the cawing crows all,
And the clouds glowing
In the West sinking,
Enchanting haze arising.
Before the bright Moon goes high in the dome, Escorted by the stars we return home.
