《時光飛逝不與我》
時光飛逝不與我,
各奔前程疾如梭;
濶別英皇少年後,
今日青絲變白頭。
翻雲覆雨五十年,
長江後浪現在前;
人生猶如一大夢,
睡鄉追夢月朦朧。
(打油詩一首)
(Chinese and English Poems by Frank C Yue)
"How Time does fly, it just leaves us behind"
How Time does fly, it just leaves us behind;
Like space shuttles, each chased after his dream.
After leaving King's College, we find
Our black hair is now a silvery stream.
Fifty years -- we've toiled and turned the world "upside down";
Polished, the rough stone's the brightest jewel in the crown!
O Such an elaborate dream life seems to be;
Following my dreams in sleep makes a "misty me".
A brief collection of my attempted English renditions of selected Chinese poems, both contemporary and classical. (Each original classical Chinese poem may be presented in both the traditional and simplified forms, followed by the English translation.) Comments and suggested amendments welcome. (But I may not have the time to respond to every comment.) I am a follower of Andrew W F Wong's excellent blog "Classical Chinese Poems in English".
