一老年人 落日依山暮漸濃 金光萬度映西空 Setting Sun clings to mountains as thickens

《七絕‧落日飛絮》一老年人

     落日依山暮漸
     金光萬度映西
     瞬間沙起急風湧,
     柳絮飛來片片

Setting Sun clings to mountains as thickens
                                               the haze fountain,
Now myriad rays of liquid gold just smelt the
                                                   West sky whole.

Sand blown up in a jiffy, gusts rush in in a hurry,
The flying willow catkins fine, each puffy
                                                    seed's red dyed.

靜聽長天雁過,幾回孤獨守空

朝霧寂,晚霞,誰能感受此心

Quietly, I listen to the passing geese's call
                          Across the skies long;
I cannot recall how many times in all
I've waited at the pavilion alone.

Lonesome is the mist in the mornings,
And the glowing cloud in the e'enings --
O Who, who could feel ever
       The pains of Two-Hearts sever'd?

Peach flow'rs and the willows present
                                    bands of red and green;
Hazy banks and distant hills in rain
                                           and smoke are seen.
At the West Lake-shore, soft my Beauty
                                                 naps on my side,
Were my wish granted, I would not
                                                 ask for Paradise!

RainsGusts, Lightnings and Thunders --
         They all come in majesty:
The Ground's shaken, torn there-under!
The Fire Ball hangs high --
All Flow'rs compete in vanity --
For his rays from the sky!

The white, white Clouds
                              float by above,
The lush, lush green Trees exhale love.
On emerald Water, Lilies pink
Are smiling amid rippling rings.

-- by 一老年人 'A Man of Advanced Years'
-- Translated by Frank C Yue

Shifting, shifting is the haze light,
Hiding, hiding the hills from sight.
      Leisurely, the birds a-tweeting,
      “Early breakfast we’re eating!”

Brilliant the azaleas pink and red
On the slopes brighter than others.
Nature’s sounds borne by the wind, it’s said,
Makes the still woods more serene rather.

The river, upon

Quietly, a man alone
Casts a fish line long
Amid the sleet and snow.
O! Up beside him who would show
Writing poems to carry on?

     有誰知我幾時休?

     光陰飛逝人何在?

'Mad Songs'
-- by 一老年人 'A Man of Advanced Years'
-- Translated by Frank C Yue

‘Clicking’ the sword, singing madly,
I post on the ‘net’ my poems best.
Who’d know when I’ll be put to rest?
With Time flying past so quickly,
Where’re some of the people I know?
         Bygone laments and tend'rness –
(But with no chance of redress) –
Leave behind traces of sorrow.
