     試種荷蓮盼一開
     雛魚驚現樂游哉
     正憂葉變魚恩物
     日照金荷笑面來

I try planting the Water Lily,
Hoping to see a fine flow'r happy.
Suddenly, some fish hatchlings appear;
They are gaily swimming here and there.

While worrying the leaves tender
May simply become fish fodder,
One sunny day there's a face smiley --
A Golden Lily -- welcoming me!
