塵世永無公允事 波浪男兒 中譯
叔叔 送給 小妹妹 (祖安娜 • 班奈特) 詩一首:
塵世永無公允事,
衹須理會有心人;
乾坤控制難由我,
擺佈當知不任君。
任爾謊言來戲弄,
歡呼暗箭與明槍;
易傷心緒多穿甲,
路路非能到瑰亭。
不記怨尤忘過去,
身心人各不相同;
守持節操蒼天意,
歲月優遊樂不窮。

TO SIU MEI MEI (Joanna Bennet)-- FROM UNCLE
-- by Frank C Yue
This secular world is never fair;
So, take heed only from those you care.
For most things, simply one cannot control;
Let not others tell you when to "sit" or "roll".
But I do let them keep their lies, laughs and jeers;
Slings and arrows could only give me more cheers.
(No, not tears)
Sensitive hearts shall need extra armour;
Not all the paths lead to the rose arbour.
Now, let bygones bygones be --
For they are them, I am me.
Angels we all should be, could be --
Meanwhile, I'll be happy, worry free.
A brief collection of my attempted English renditions of selected Chinese poems, both contemporary and classical. (Each original classical Chinese poem may be presented in both the traditional and simplified forms, followed by the English translation.) Comments and suggested amendments welcome. (But I may not have the time to respond to every comment.) I am a follower of Andrew W F Wong's excellent blog "Classical Chinese Poems in English".
