Leisurely I watch the full Moon

162  37.

TUNE: Xī Jiāng Yuè “West River Moon”

TITLE: Yú Wēng “Fisherman”

-- by 夜月星河 'Night Moon Starry River'

-- Translated by Frank C Yue

Leisurely I watch the full Moon in Autumn

evenings,

And I angle the cold river in Winter

mornings.

Fog and waves: Water e’erywhere far as

the eye can see;

With abandonment, I let the tiny boat drift

free.

All the clouds, and mists, and distant

mountains are speechless,

While the skies’ verge and seas’ corner so

vast and boundless.

Waking from a meal-time dream in a lonely

sail boat,

I chase the waves and along with care-free

sand gulls float.

Green willows caress my face

28-Character Quatrain:

"West Lake in Spring Evening"

-- by 夜月星河 'Night Moon Starry River'

--  Translated by Frank C Yue

Green willows caress my face while the

white bank serene stays;

On the Lake there's a tiny boat amid the

haze and waves.

Moon shadows at the Three Lanterns on

emerald waters;

Barely visible th' e'ening Pagoda of Peak

Thunder.

I watch

Qiu: "Autumn" -- A Palindrome 28-Character Quatrain
-- by 一老年人 'A Man of Advanced Years'
-- Translated by Frank C Yue

I watch in the long sky
All the wild geese south fly.
‘Neath the yellow fence the fine mums
Add welcome hues to Autumn.

Maple red leaves are falling still
In the cold, dew-covered hills;
Amid countless stars glistening,
The full Moon’s leisurely shining.

Leisurely, ‘round the regal Moon bright
Myriad stars twinkle in delight;
While the mountain dew is cold still,
The maple red leaves fall in view.

'Neath the fence in Autumn colourful,
The yellow mums bright so beautiful!
After the last south-flying goose’s gone,
Gazing at th’empty skies I keep on.

"For Now, I Don't Have the Time!"

"Some Day, Some Time, I'll Give It a Try!"
-- by Frank C Yue

"Now, the fact is just like that --
I don't feel like doing that!
But I will give it a try
Some day, somehow, some time...
For now, I don't have the time!"
So you don't have the time?

You want to procrastinate, again?
Well, hear this, hear me out, then --
"Some day, some time, I'll give it a try...
When one's dead one has all the time!"
That is the cold, hard fact.
And that -- "Dead is dead!" -- is that!
(Hehee!)

here's an instant cure for d habitual procrastinator:

夜月星河 楓,霜染層林映水紅。 Maples – Coating the layers of woods

Maples –

Coating the layers of woods frost is seen,

All red on the water reflecting.

Blows the fierce West Wind,

Leaves just dance in the long skies floating.
