          空長望盡南征雁，
          秀菊黃籬漫彩秋；
          楓落亂紅山露冷，
          閃星明月亮悠悠。

I watch in the long sky   
All the wild geese south fly.
‘Neath the yellow fence the fine mums
Add welcome hues to Autumn.

Maple red leaves are falling still
In the cold, dew-covered hills;
Amid countless stars glistening,
The full Moon’s leisurely shining.


         悠悠亮月明星閃，
         冷露山紅亂落楓；
         秋彩漫籬黃菊秀，
         雁征南盡望長空。

Leisurely, ‘round the regal Moon bright
Myriad stars twinkle in delight;
While the mountain dew is cold still,
The maple red leaves fall in view.

'Neath the fence in Autumn colourful,
The yellow mums bright so beautiful!
After the last south-flying goose’s gone,
Gazing at th’empty skies I keep on.
