一老年人 靜聽長天雁過聲 幾回孤獨守空亭 Quietly, I listen to the passing geese's call

168.《漁歌子‧孤亭》一老年人

靜聽長天雁過,幾回孤獨守空

朝霧寂,晚霞,誰能感受此心

TUNE: Yú Gē Zǐ  "The Singing Fisherman"
TITLE: Gū Tíng  "Lonesome Pavilion"
-- by 一老年人 'A Man of Advanced Years'
-- Translated by Frank C Yue

Quietly, I listen to the passing geese's call
                          Across the skies long;
I cannot recall how many times in all
       I've waited at the pavilion alone.

Lonesome is the mist in the mornings,
And the glowing cloud in the e'enings --
       O Who, who could feel ever
       The pains of Two-Hearts sever'd?
