A Funny Couplet
-- by ANON
-- Translated by Frank C Yue

Itching always begets scratching;
One will scratch where there is itching.
The more itching, the more scratching,
The more scratching, the more itching !

Where there are those who are being born,         There are those who are dying;                             Where there are those who are dying,

There are those who are being born.
Those who die first were those first born;

"First born" teachers will be "first gone" !

Note by Translator:

"先 生" (on the last line of the original couplet):
Literally meaning "FIRST BORN" is a pun for
"teacher", or "mister" or "husband".

from another blog:

Too bad there is no information on who are the authors of the funny couplet posted above. this is obviously a Q-and-A stuff, a test set by a teacher for his student.
