"One's fate isn't subject to calculation"
-- by s.f. suen
-- Translated by Frank C Yue

In life one oft'n finds, in retrospection,
One's fate isn't subject to divination.
Forsaking the quiet road my house beside,
I boldly plunge into the river wild!
With great compassion and mercy,
I will follow my destiny.
From far-off places come old friends,
Could such pleasure never end?
Our frontier isles violated by foes:
Arise, heroes of China new and old!
The whole City and all the mountains blue
Will always stand guard for our youths and you!
When Virtue rules in great enlightenment,
The day will dawn in peace and merriment.
When it's Sunny o'er all our lands and seas,
There would be harmony as it should be!
