-- by 夜月星河 ‘Night Moon Starry River’
The moored boats by the ferry at the
country-side
And all the trees by the setting Sun are
red dyed,
While the crows in the chilly evening
loudly cry.
Reflected on the wavy waters some sails
returning,
So bright the coloured clouds glowing!
The in-coming tide rising,
The lapping waves a-groaning.
Softly falling in all the four directions,
Dusk’s shown;
The clouds and the mountains then join
hands at this instance.
The fishermen’s lights are flickering in
the distance.
Winds sweeping through the layers of woods
– parting leaves blown
Into disarray and oblivion.
As wild geese arrow past the clear skies,
By the river mansion the Moon shines.

ReplyDeleteHello, Frank, here is the rendition again:
ReplyDeleteLone boat moors at the ferry pier,
Trees painted by the sunset into red and colourful,,
Cries of the crow in the chilly wind are mournful
.
Water ripple reflects sails home coming in the twilight mist,
Tides of the night time seen emerging,,
Power waves keep swallowing.
Darken around in the wildness, clouds and mountains start fusing together,
Far beyond, fisherman’s lamps flicker.
Wind sweeping across the deep woods, leaves scatter and fall,
Geese fly passed against a clear sky,
Tower shadows on the river under the bright moon shine.
