"Funny" Excerpt from 'PREFACE TO TENG WANG GE'
("KING OF TENG'S GRAND PAVILION")
-- by WANG BO (650-676)

--Translated by Frank C Yue

Lone goose, clouds of the setting Sun --
Aut'mn water, skies on high are one!
The fishermen songs at night-fall --
Wild geese lines break the cold for all.

【籐王閣序】 (節錄)   唐 • 王勃

             落霞與孤鶩齊飛,

             秋水共長天一色。

             漁舟唱晚,響窮彭蠡之濱;

             雁陣驚寒,聲斷衡陽之浦。

Sun-set glowing clouds and lone goose together fly;
One are the Autumn water and the skies on high!
Fishermen
songs -- at night-fall --
Cheerily resonate along Lake Po Yang's shore.
Geese formation breaks the cold,
Their cries echoing o'er river banks at Heng Yang old.

       遠水連天萬里秋,
       渔歌唱晚樂悠悠;
       落霞孤鶩匆飛去,
       雁陣驚寒過翠樓。

    AUTUMN EVENING NO. 2 (OF 2)
    -- by 波浪男兒 "Wave-Chaser Guy"
    -- Translated by Frank C. Yue

    Distant river joins the skies, sprinkling Aut'mn for thousands of mile;
    Fishermen sing cheery songs at dusk, the young Night to beguile.
    Away, lone goose, glowing clouds of the setting Sun quickly fly;
    Breaking up the cold air, the green mansions geese lines arrow by.

    雲夢長天一色秋,
    驚寒雁陣過前樓。
    憑欄聽唱漁舟晚,
    孤鶩飛霞共客愁。

    "FLEETING CLOUDS, MY DREAMS, TH' AUTUMN SKIES"
    -- by 懶散人 "Lan San Ren"
    -- Translated by Frank C Yue

    Fleeting clouds, my dreams, th' Autumn skies are one --they're together blown;
    Braving the cold, wild geese lines o'er yonder houses have flown!
    Beyond the Dusk railings, fishers are singing cheerily;
    Only a lost goose and slow cloud keep me here company.
