“The Tartar Chief, north of these clouds, I'll capture and berate.” Horses are sacrificed to Heaven in front of the troops.

THE SONG OF LIANGZHOU: "CROSSING THE BORDER"
(NO. 2 of 2)

-- by WANG ZHIHUAN (688-742) -
- Translated by Frank C Yue

“The Tartar Chief, north of these clouds, I'll capture and berate.”
Horses are sacrificed to Heaven in front of the troops.
Know this: the Han Emperor is a martial genius great!
He'll never marry a Princess away peace to recoup.
